Today the Chair of the Board of the Village Theater in Issaquah (a board on which I sit) gave me a run down of the upcoming Board meeting. He has been working hard at getting up to speed and bringing “his brand” of energy to the Board as he takes on the role as Chair. After reading his email and all the work that he has accomplished on behalf of the Board, I gave him a virtual “three snaps.”
I forgot that this is not as well known as the “high five” or the “fist bump”, yet is just as powerful. Using this physical sign of recognition is not only a way to acknowledge the work of your colleagues, it is a great sign of respect. And it causes people to smile. 🙂
One day the Three Snaps will become as common a sign as a “High Five!”
How about just remembering to give thanks to someone for doing good work? It’s good for the person receiving the thanks and it’s good for you, too.
